Abstract
This souvenir yearbook documents the training curricula, participant trajectories, and historical milestones of the Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific (SIAP) during its nineteenth academic year from 1988 to 1989. Published primarily as a commemorative reference for international fellows, the text chronicles the long-term impacts of SIAP's primary General Course in statistics alongside its highly specialized Automatic Data Processing (ADP) course. It contextualizes institutional achievements under the joint administrative architectures of the Government of Japan and the United Nations Development Programme. A substantial portion of the volume is devoted to descriptive, firsthand cultural and educational essays contributed directly by practicing government statisticians during field workshops across different Japanese prefectures. Ultimately, the directory balances institutional performance tracking with historical programmatic data to promote cross-cultural friendship and localized statistical capability building.
